Who can take part
- You are a generally healthy adult (18 or older) with a dental implant that has been in place for at least a year.
- The bone loss around your implant is mild to moderate (no more than about a third of the implant length).
- The defect must have 2 or 3 bony walls that can be treated with a bone-grafting procedure.
- Your implant is in the back of the mouth (molar/premolar area), is screw-retained, and can be kept clean easily.
- You do not have a history of gum disease (periodontitis), diabetes, or a smoking habit.
- You have at least 2 mm of attached gum tissue around the implant and are willing to follow good oral hygiene and attend follow-up visits.
