Who can take part
- Your child must be between 4 and 17 years old.
- Your child must have a body mass index (BMI) that is well above average for their age and sex (called obesity).
- Your child must have been in the HEAL program for at least 3 months and their weight not have gone down during that time.
- Your child cannot have type 2 diabetes, be allergic to the study supplement (genistein), or be taking certain weight-loss, ADHD, or antipsychotic medications.
- You and your child can participate even if English is not your first language, as interpreters are available.
- If you choose not to join the study, your child can continue regular care in the HEAL program.
