Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a lower respiratory tract infection with at least two of these: fever or low body temperature, abnormal white blood cell count, or thick mucus
  • You have already had a special genetic test (tNGS) on a sample from your lungs during this hospital stay
  • The tNGS test showed high levels of Staphylococcus aureus, Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, or Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • A culture of fluid from your lungs (bronchoalveolar lavage) did not grow any of these bacteria
