- You are between 18 and 75 years old.

- You have been trying to lose weight with diet and exercise for at least 3 months and your weight has stayed mostly the same (changed less than 5%).
- You do not have diabetes.
- Your high blood pressure is well-controlled (systolic under 160 and diastolic under 100).
- Your heart rhythm is normal on an ECG (no slow or fast resting heart rate, no long QT or heart block).
