This trial is looking for people who are exactly 50 years old and have just been diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia (nerve pain after shingles). It will study early signs to help better understand this condition.

Who can take part
- You must have been diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia (nerve pain after shingles) and the pain has lasted for a specific time: less than 1 month, between 1 and 2 months, or more than 3 months.
- You must be exactly 50 years old.
- You should not have any other chronic pain conditions.
- You cannot have digestive system diseases (like irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease) or serious stomach discomfort.
- You cannot have a weakened immune system or an autoimmune disease.
- You must not have used antibiotics, acid-reducing drugs, or medications that affect gut bacteria in the last month, and you cannot have a history of mental illness or heavy smoking/drinking (more than 2 packs of cigarettes per day).
