New 3D mapping system for treating paroxysmal AF

Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation (PAF)

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This study tests a new 3D heart-mapping system that helps doctors navigate during a procedure to treat paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat that can come and go). The system uses pressure and star-mapping technologies to make the treatment more precise and safer.

Who can take part

  • You have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) that comes and goes and your doctor recommends a procedure called catheter ablation.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You do not have a blood clot in your heart, and your heart’s pumping strength is normal (LVEF above 40%).
  • You have not had a stroke, mini-stroke, or heart attack in the past 3 months.
  • You have not had a prior ablation for AF, and you do not have other serious health issues like active infections, bleeding problems, or cancer.
