This study tests whether adding a long-term, low-dose antibiotic (azithromycin) to your usual asthma treatment can help improve control and reduce attacks. It is for people whose asthma is still not well controlled despite using a daily inhaler.

Who can take part
- You have had asthma for at least 1 year.
- You are between 13 and 75 years old.
- You have a prescription for a daily asthma control inhaler (a corticosteroid inhaler, or one combined with other medicines).
- Your asthma is not well controlled, shown by either a low test score or a flare-up that needed steroid pills or a hospital stay in the past year.
- You do not have serious liver, kidney, or heart rhythm problems that would make the study antibiotic unsafe.
- You do not live with someone who is already in this study.
