Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 99 years old
  • You are scheduled for an interventional ERCP (a procedure to look at and treat your bile ducts or pancreas)
  • You will receive sedation given by a nurse
  • You have not had an allergic reaction to propofol (a common sedative)
  • You do not have a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in your neck)
  • Your procedure does not require a breathing tube, general anesthesia, or an anesthesiologist on standby for serious breathing or heart problems
