Walking robot for stroke recovery

Who can take part

  • First-time paralysis of one side of the body from a stroke or brain bleed.
  • Stroke must have happened within the past year.
  • Able to follow simple instructions and understand the study (score at least 20 on a thinking test).
  • Body weight between 88 and 176 pounds (40 to 80 kg).
  • No severe stiffness in the hip, knee, or ankle that limits walking.
  • Walk with a leg brace because the leg gives way or is unstable.
