Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You had a stroke more than 6 months ago
  • You have trouble walking due to weakness on one side of the body
  • You can walk a little with help (score 2 or higher on a walking ability scale)
  • You could walk on your own before the stroke
  • You do not have severe memory, thinking, or communication problems
  • You do not have serious heart, lung, or blood pressure conditions
  • You do not have severe muscle tightness in your legs
  • You do not have open sores, fractures, or recent joint problems that limit movement
