Postmenopausal Women With Osteoporosis at High Risk of Fracture

Who can take part

  • You are a woman who has gone through menopause (not had a period for more than 2 years or had both ovaries removed more than 2 years ago).
  • You are between 50 and 85 years old and can walk on your own.
  • You have low bone density in your spine or hip (T-score between -2.5 and -4.0).
  • You have at least one of these risk factors: a past bone fracture from a minor fall (after age 40), a parent who broke a hip, high bone turnover, low body weight (BMI 19 or less), age 65 or older, or current smoking.
  • You have not used certain osteoporosis medications like denosumab, bisphosphonates (for over 3 years), fluoride, or strontium within the last 5 years or within specific timeframes.
  • You do not have other bone or metabolic diseases, kidney problems, vitamin D deficiency, dental issues needing surgery, or a history of more than two spine fractures.
