  • Age 60 or older
  • Permanent (continuous) atrial fibrillation
  • Mild or severe cognitive impairment (scoring less than 26 on a memory/thinking test)
  • Able to come for regular check-ups over six months
  • No serious heart block or very slow heart rate
  • No active cancer, severe liver or kidney disease, or chronic viral infections
