Fontan stent study for liver stiffness and exercise
Part of Genetic & congenital, Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This study looks at whether placing a stent in the Fontan blood vessel can improve liver health and exercise ability in teenagers and young adults. If you are between 12 and 21 years old and need a stent in your Fontan pathway, you may be able to join.

This study tests whether a home-based exercise training program can improve fitness in people with Fontan circulation. Participants will do regular aerobic exercise and be monitored for changes in heart and lung function over time.
This trial tests if a supervised exercise program (cardiac rehabilitation) can help people who have had a Fontan procedure and are now experiencing heart failure symptoms. It aims to improve your strength, stamina, and overall well-being.
This trial looks at how blood flow works in people with Fontan circulation, who have a unique heart surgery. It aims to understand vein compression and may help guide future care.
This trial uses a special liver scan (FibroScan) to measure liver stiffness, which may help detect high pressure in the central veins returning blood to the heart. It is for people with heart failure who are already scheduled for a right heart catheterization.
This study looks for blood and/or test markers that can better show how severe liver disease is in people who had the Fontan heart procedure. It also involves medical imaging and/or a liver biopsy or related procedures to help evaluate those markers.
This trial tests whether udenafil helps teens and young people with Fontan circulation do better on exercise and breathing-related measures over time. You’d need to be on blood-thinning medicine, and be able to complete exercise testing safely.
