Amino acid dialysis fluid for diabetic patients on PD

Peritoneal DialysisDiabetes

Part of Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.

This study tests a special dialysis fluid made with amino acids (protein building blocks) instead of the usual sugar-based fluid. It may help control blood sugar and improve nutrition in people with diabetes on peritoneal dialysis.

Icodextrin to delay full-dose dialysis in first year of incremental PD

This study tests whether a special dialysis fluid called icodextrin can help people on a low-dose form of peritoneal dialysis stay on that low dose longer before needing a full dose. It is for adults who still make some urine and can do dialysis at home.
