Who can take part

  • Be between 19 and 80 years old
  • Be currently dependent on opioids (prescribed or not) and meet the criteria for opioid use disorder
  • Have a moderate-to-severe withdrawal score (COWS of 5 or higher) but low pain (less than 6 on a 0-10 scale)
  • Not have used long-acting opioids like methadone or buprenorphine for more than 5 days straight before joining
  • Not have certain medical conditions like seizures, serious mental health disorders, or implanted devices
