Who can take part
- You have had ulcerative colitis for at least 3 months, and it affects the colon beyond the rectum (at least 15 cm from the anal opening).
- Your disease is moderate to severe, with a combined score (including stool frequency, rectal bleeding, and endoscopy findings) between 4 and 9.
- You have tried at least one standard treatment (like steroids, immunosuppressants, or biologic drugs) and it didn't work well enough, or you became dependent on steroids.
- You are not currently taking certain other medications, or if you are, you can stop them for a specific period before starting the trial.
- You do not have a history of Crohn's disease, certain other bowel conditions, or severe complications like colon perforation or dysplasia.
