Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old and weigh between 110 and 220 pounds.
  • You were diagnosed with HIV during the early stage (within 3 months of infection) and started ART within 2 months of that diagnosis.
  • You have been on HIV medicines (like dolutegravir, bictegravir, raltegravir, or rilpivirine) for at least a year and have had undetectable virus for the last 6 months.
  • Your CD4 count (immune cells) is above 500 on recent tests.
  • You are willing to stop your HIV medicines for a short period (treatment interruption) and follow a strict visit schedule.
  • You agree to take valacyclovir (to prevent herpes) daily during the interruption and use effective birth control if needed.
