Who can take part
- You are older than 15 years old.
- You have an inherited bleeding disorder (like von Willebrand disease, a platelet disorder, a factor deficiency, or a bleeding problem with no known cause).
- You have low iron levels (a blood test shows ferritin less than 50).
- You will receive IV iron at the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania.
- You are willing to have blood drawn before and 3 months after the infusion.
- You do not have a history of blood clots or deep vein thrombosis.
- Your platelet count is not too low (above 100,000).
- You are not taking blood thinners, aspirin, or anti-inflammatory pain relievers (NSAIDs).
