This trial tests whether giving a special type of immune cells from your kidney donor (called ECP-DL cells) can help your body accept the new kidney without strong anti-rejection drugs. It is for people who are getting their first kidney transplant from a donor who is not a perfect genetic match.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 30 and 70 years old and getting your first kidney transplant.
  • Your donor must be willing to donate a small blood sample to prepare the special immune cells.
  • You and your donor must test negative for certain infections (like HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, West Nile virus, and tuberculosis).
  • You cannot have any major health issues like uncontrolled diabetes, severe heart disease, or a recent stroke.
  • You and your donor must be willing to use birth control for a year after the procedure.
  • You cannot have had a splenectomy (spleen removal), have very high antibodies against donors, or have certain light-sensitive skin conditions.
