Who can take part

  • You are between 4 and 17 years old
  • You are scheduled for surgery to treat ankle tightness (equinus) at Stollery Children's Hospital
  • You have one of these conditions: idiopathic toe walking, cerebral palsy, hereditary spastic paraparesis, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or stroke
  • You can keep your foot flat (hindfoot and midfoot neutral) during the exam
  • Your ankle bends up (passive dorsiflexion) less than 20 degrees beyond the tight position
