Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You are either a healthy volunteer (BMI 18–30) or have obesity (BMI 32 or higher) and possibly type 2 diabetes.
  • If you have diabetes, your blood sugar (fasting) must be between 125 and 260 mg/dL, and your diabetes must be managed by diet/exercise or a stable dose of metformin.
  • You must not smoke more than 5 cigarettes a day and agree not to drink alcohol for 48 hours before dosing until the end of the study.
  • You must be willing to stay at the study clinic for periods of time and follow all study rules.
  • You cannot have a history of seizures, major surgery within the past 2 months, or certain liver, kidney, or heart problems.
