NVD003 for children with hard-to-heal tibia fractures
Part of Injuries & trauma clinical trials.
This study tests a new treatment called NVD003 for children with a very hard-to-heal broken leg bone (congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia). It compares NVD003 to the standard bone graft surgery to see which helps the bone heal better.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are 17 years old or younger.
- You have a doctor's diagnosis of congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia (a type of broken leg bone that doesn't heal).
- The broken bone is in the middle part of your shin, not near the knee or ankle.
- You are able to have surgery with a metal rod inside the bone (called internal fixation).
- You weigh at least 11 pounds (5 kilograms).
- You have parents or guardians who agree to the study and sign forms.

This study looks at a specific surgical fixation method (how the thighbone pieces are held together) for distal femur or femoral shaft fractures. It aims to compare outcomes and see if this approach works well, especially by tracking results after surgery.
This study follows people age 18+ who broke the tibia (shin bone) and are at higher risk for infection. It compares a standard internal metal nail to a special coated nail to see which one lowers infection problems and supports healing.
This trial is following patients who receive a bone graft using a product called b.Bone to treat bone defects in the arms, legs, or pelvis. Researchers will collect information during your regular follow-up visits to see how well the bone heals.
This trial looks at whether adding a small hole in the thigh bone during a surgery to prevent a broken leg bone (hip or thigh) reduces the risk of fat or other materials traveling to the heart or lungs during the procedure. It may help make surgery safer for people at risk of a thigh bone fracture due to bone disease or medication.
This trial studies a special nail for certain broken shin bones to lower the chance of infection after surgery. If you qualify, the study team will help you receive the antibiotic-coated nail and will follow you closely for about a year.
This study looks at a specific type of thighbone (femur) nail that helps prevent infection, placed during fracture surgery. You may be able to join if you’re having surgery for a femur fracture or needing an osteotomy and your treatment plan includes this nail.
