Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You have a lower respiratory tract infection and severe pneumonia.
  • Severe pneumonia means you need a ventilator for breathing or medication for shock, or you have at least 3 other signs like fast breathing, low oxygen levels, confusion, low blood pressure, or abnormal lab results.
  • You agree to have a bronchoscopy and a lung wash (lavage) to collect fluid for the AI-ROSE test.
  • You cannot have other serious health issues that make bronchoscopy unsafe.
