Who can take part
- You are between 12 and 75 years old
- You have been diagnosed with von Willebrand disease of any type
- You have had at least 12 bleeding episodes (not counting menstrual or under-the-skin bleeds) in the past year, whether or not you treated them
- You are not currently on regular treatment to prevent bleeding and are willing to start a new preventive regimen
- Your hemoglobin level is at least 8 g/dL and your platelet count is at least 100,000 per microliter at screening
