Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You are scheduled for elective surgery on your leg or foot under spinal anesthesia.
  • You are in overall good health or have mild to moderate health conditions that are well managed.
  • You are at least 150 cm (about 4 feet 11 inches) tall.
  • You do not have chronic pain or use strong pain medications long term.
  • You do not have a history of prostate problems or take certain blood pressure medications called alpha-2 blockers.
