Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You are scheduled for surgery on your leg (below the hip) that uses spinal anesthesia.
  • You are in good general health (classified as ASA I or II).
  • You do not have bleeding problems, infection near your spine, or high pressure in your brain.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You do not have a history of drug or alcohol abuse, and you have not been on strong painkillers for a long time.
  • You do not have nerve damage or numbness in your legs.
