Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You are scheduled for an above-knee leg amputation because of sarcoma (a type of cancer).
  • Your height is between about 4'11" (150 cm) and 6'1" (185 cm).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 35.
  • You do not have serious heart problems, allergies to the study drugs, or conditions that prevent spinal anesthesia.
