Who can take part

  • You are 22 years old or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat) that comes and goes or is constant.
  • You are planning to have mitral valve surgery (repair or replacement) along with a specific type of heart ablation (Cox-Maze IV) and closure of the left atrial appendage.
  • You have an Apple iPhone and are willing to wear both an Apple Watch and a Zio Patch (a small skin patch) for monitoring.
  • You are willing to come for follow-up visits and complete surveys for the study period.
