Alpha-1 Antitrypsin for COPD exacerbations in hospital

Who can take part

  • You are 40 years old or older.
  • You have a prior diagnosis of COPD confirmed by a breathing test.
  • You are currently hospitalized for a moderate to severe COPD flare-up.
  • You have low oxygen levels (below 92% on room air) or need more oxygen than usual.
  • You have a positive test for a specific protein in your sputum (phlegm).
  • You do not have other significant lung diseases, active cancer, or certain immune conditions.
