Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with COPD and have had at least two bad flare-ups each year for the past two years.
  • You are now having an acute flare-up (worsening shortness of breath, cough, or phlegm) that started within the last 14 days.
  • You do not have asthma, pneumonia, tuberculosis, or other serious lung diseases.
  • You are not allergic to alpha-lipoic acid, and you do not have severe liver, kidney, or heart problems.
