Microneedling for chronic Peyronie's disease: a pilot study

This pilot study tests whether microneedling (tiny needles used on the skin) can safely and effectively reduce the curve caused by Peyronie's disease. If you have had a stable curve for at least 6 months and have not tried other treatments recently, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You have Peyronie's disease for at least 12 months, and your curve has been stable and pain-free for at least 6 months.
  • Your penile curve is between 30 and 90 degrees (measured in one main direction).
  • You are in a steady relationship with a female partner and willing to have vaginal intercourse (if you are not heterosexual, you can still join, but some questionnaires may not apply).
  • You can get a firm enough erection for the doctor to measure the curve, with help from a penile injection if needed.
  • You have not had other treatments for Peyronie's (like surgery, injections, shockwave, or pills) in the last 3 months, and you have never had collagenase (Xiaflex) treatment.
  • You do not have a history of genital herpes (HSV), are not on blood thinners, and do not have other penis conditions or active sexually transmitted infections.
