  • You are an adult (18 years or older).
  • You have been on a breathing tube for more than 48 hours.
  • Your doctor has decided it is time to remove the breathing tube (extubation).
  • You do not have any restrictions that prevent your head from being elevated more than 30 degrees.
  • You are not pregnant or breast-feeding.
  • You are not under legal protection (like guardianship) or in prison.
