Plasma exosome role in thinking problems in first-episode schizophrenia

This study looks at tiny particles called exosomes in your blood and how small molecules inside them called microRNAs may affect thinking and memory in people with a first episode of schizophrenia. If you join, your blood will be used to help find new ways to understand and treat cognitive symptoms.

Who can take part

  • You or a healthy volunteer matched by sex, age, and education level.
  • No family history of psychiatric disorders in parents, siblings, or grandparents.
  • You must be of Han Chinese ethnicity.
  • No serious physical illnesses like uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, or epilepsy.
  • Not currently or previously diagnosed with a substance-induced psychotic disorder, delusional disorder, brief psychotic disorder, or mood disorder with psychotic features.
