Study on gene's role in cholesterol metabolism

Healthy Participants

This study looks at how a gene called GPR146 affects how your body handles cholesterol. You will eat a test meal and have blood drawn to see how your body processes fats and sugars.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 25
  • Your cholesterol levels are not too high (below 8 mmol/L) and your triglycerides are below 3 mmol/L
  • Your blood sugar is normal (below 7 mmol/L)
  • Your blood pressure is under 160/100 mmHg
  • Your weight has been stable (no more than a 3 kg change) in the last three months
  • You are willing to stop donating blood for several weeks before and after the study
  • You do not smoke, have diabetes, or have had major stomach surgery
  • You do not take medications for blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood sugar
