  • You can sign a written consent form to join the study
  • You have one specific genetic variant related to fatty liver or cholesterol (or you are a control person with none of these known variants)
  • Your A1c (average blood sugar over ~3 months) is below 6.5%
  • Your BMI is between 18.5 and 40 (and not over 40)
  • Your kidney function is fairly good (estimated filtration rate above 60)
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
