Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 90 years old.
  • You have symptoms from a chronic subdural hematoma, like headache, weakness, or confusion.
  • A CT or MRI scan has confirmed the hematoma.
  • The hematoma is large enough (causing brain shift of 5 mm or more) that surgery is needed.
  • You have not had surgery for this same condition in the past 6 months.
  • You have no other serious bleeding risks and can safely undergo surgery and follow-up for 3 months.
