Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a chronic subdural hematoma (a slow-growing blood clot on the brain's surface) that needs to be drained through a small hole in the skull
  • You do not have a major brain lesion like a tumor or abnormal blood vessel
  • You have not had surgery or a procedure to block an artery (middle meningeal artery embolization) on the same side of the brain as your current hematoma
  • You are able to give consent or have a legally acceptable representative who can give consent
