- You are 19 years or older
- You have hip osteoarthritis or avascular necrosis (a hip bone condition)
- You can sit at the edge of a bed without help and stand for 10 seconds (even with support like a walker)

- You do not have severe health problems like a recent stroke, active infection, or untreated broken bones
