Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 1 month and 18 years old.
  • Your child must be in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) due to a new brain injury (from trauma, lack of oxygen, infection, stroke, etc.).
  • Your child must have lasting problems (like weakness, trouble moving, or thinking changes) from the brain injury, shown on a brain MRI.
  • Your child cannot have active epilepsy or frequent uncontrolled seizures.
  • No close family history of a degenerative brain disease (a brain condition that gets worse over time).
  • Your child must be able to receive ozone therapy through the rectum.
