Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You can understand the study and give your permission (informed consent).
  • You are scheduled for heart surgery that will use a heart-lung machine, with the tube placed in the groin area.
  • Your surgery is expected to last no more than 6 hours.
  • You weigh between 45 and 130 kg (about 100 to 286 pounds).
  • You have not had previous surgery on the main blood vessels in your groin or leg.
