  • You must have a new diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that hasn't been treated yet.
  • You need to be accompanied by a family member when you join the study.
  • You cannot have other cancers that need treatment.
  • You must not have serious infections like hepatitis, HIV, or SARS.
  • You should not have had major surgery in the last 3 weeks.
  • Your overall health and daily activity level must be good (score of 0–3 on a standard scale).
