Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
  • You received your first treatment with either azacitidine plus venetoclax or decitabine plus venetoclax.
  • You achieved remission (bone marrow blasts less than 5%) within 3 cycles of that treatment.
  • Your blood counts have recovered on their own (no transfusions needed for 7 days) and you haven't used growth factor shots in the last 14 days.
  • You are not eligible for or have declined a stem cell transplant, and you are not eligible for intensive chemotherapy.

Azacitidine and venetoclax for people with AML in remission

Shorter vs standard venetoclax with azacitidine for older AML patients

This trial compares a shorter course (7 days) of the targeted drug venetoclax with the standard longer course, both given along with the chemotherapy drug azacitidine. It is for older adults with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who cannot tolerate intensive chemotherapy.
