Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 80 years old and have been diagnosed with ALS (definite or probable by standard criteria).
  • Your first symptoms started less than 2 years ago.
  • Your breathing test (FVC) is at least 70% of normal, and your ALS functional score (ALSFRS-R) is 30 or higher.
  • You have a body mass index (BMI) of 19 or higher.
  • You have not had gene therapy, stem cell therapy, or an organ transplant before.
  • You do not have an active infection, autoimmune disease, or certain antibodies against the virus used in the treatment.
