- You are between 40 and 80 years old.
- You are having non-cardiac surgery (not open heart, not a C-section, and not a very minor procedure).
- You have at least two of these: age over 60, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, blocked leg arteries, prior stroke, chronic kidney disease, heart failure, COPD, or current smoking.
- You are able to give your own written consent.
