Who can take part
- You have chronic hepatitis B and have not been treated before, or if you have been treated, your virus levels are very low.
- Your hepatitis B virus DNA level must be either low to moderate (if untreated) or very low (if you've had treatment before).
- Your hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) level must be between 100 and 10,000 IU/mL (or between 100 and 3,000 IU/mL if you've had treatment before).
- You do not have active infections with hepatitis A, C, D, E, or HIV.
- You have no signs of liver scarring (cirrhosis) or serious liver damage from other causes.
- Your liver enzyme levels (ALT and AST) and bilirubin must be within certain limits.
