Who can take part
- You must be between 40 and 70 years old.
- Your doctor has told you that your 10-year risk of heart attack or stroke is between 10% and 20%.
- You are scheduled for a CT scan of your heart to check for possible blockages.
- You have never been diagnosed with heart disease, had a heart attack, stroke, or a heart procedure (stent or bypass).
- You have not taken any cholesterol-lowering medicines (like statins or PCSK9 inhibitors) in the last 3 months.
- You do not have moderate or severe kidney disease, active inflammation, or an autoimmune condition.
