Who can take part

  • You are having or recently had a hip or knee replacement on one side only.
  • You can understand and speak Turkish and do not have severe memory or thinking problems.
  • You do not have hearing or vision problems that would prevent you from following guided imagery.
  • You do not have any other condition causing pain or anxiety (like an infection or injury).
  • You do not take strong painkillers or sedatives regularly, and do not have chronic pain or a psychiatric diagnosis.
  • You are willing to participate and follow the same pain medication plan after surgery.
