Who can take part
- You are between 30 and 70 years old
- You have a pterygium (a fleshy growth on the eye) for the first time, and it is moderate or advanced (Grade II or III)
- The pterygium has caused astigmatism (an irregular curve in the front of your eye) that your doctor has confirmed
- You are scheduled for a surgery that removes the pterygium and transplants a piece of your own eye tissue (conjunctival autograft)
- You have not had previous eye surgeries like cataract or glaucoma surgery, and you do not have other conditions that affect the cornea's shape
