Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 79 years old.
  • You are currently on a breathing machine (ventilator).
  • You need to be moved to another room or hospital while on the breathing machine.
  • You or your legal guardian must sign a consent form agreeing to join the trial.
  • You are not in severe shock or requiring very high doses of blood pressure medicine.
  • You do not have a collapsed lung without a chest tube, active bleeding from the lungs, or severe lung injury.
