Who can take part

  • You have dilated cardiomyopathy caused by a genetic change in MYH7, TTN, or another known gene, or it runs in your family
  • You have heart failure symptoms like shortness of breath or fatigue (NYHA class II to IV) that have been stable for at least 1 month
  • Your heart's left ventricle is slightly enlarged and your heart's pumping strength (LVEF) is 45% or less
  • You are already taking the best standard heart failure medications for at least 4 weeks
  • Your dilated cardiomyopathy is not caused by things like drug abuse, sarcoidosis, or amyloidosis
  • You can do an exercise test on a bike or treadmill and your peak oxygen uptake is 80% or less of normal
